Spelthorne Committee For Access Now (SCAN) (SP)
Duties:
1. Receive mail and other documents relating to accessibility issues and distribute as required.
1.1. Reply to mail as requested and assist cmmittee members in preparing reply letters and documents as necessary.
1.2. Act as co-ordinator for SCAN's activities.
2.1. Attend committee meetings as a member and where necessary take minutes of any meetings where the forum administrator is not available (such as the agm) and liaise with forum administrator in the distribution of any papers needed for these meetings. Implement an decisions relating to accessibility issues and attend to administration duties as they occur.
3...ANNUALLY:
3.1..Prepare annual report - liaising with committee members
3.2..Co-ordinate invitations for guest speaker(s) and the Mayor and Mayoress
3.3..Distribute AGM papers and invitations - approx. 6 weeks prior to the Annual General Meeting - held in September
3.4..Co-ordinate replies to invitations.
3.5..Attend the AGM read the previous AGM minutes and Annual Report and take current AGM minutes.
4...OCCASIONAL TASKS.
4.1.. Liaise with Borough and County Councils and other voluntary organisations
General:
Most of the work can be undertaken at home. The use of a telephone and a computer is essential.
Minute taking and organisational skills. Shorthand not essential but would be beneficial. Also have an interest in accessibility issues for people with disabilities, the elderly and the infirm.
