Supporting the Assisted Swim Sessions at Egham Orbit (RM)

We are looking for volunteers for Egham Constellations - supporting the assisted swim sessions at Egham Orbit.

Are you interested in assisting people with a variety of disabilities in an assisted swimming session at Egham Orbit pool?

Can you spare a few hours, one day per week?

Runnymede's accessible pool at Egham Orbit runs a dedicated session for disabled group - Egham Constellations.  Our volunteers are greatly appreciated and valued as they assist people with various disabilities caused by conditions such as stroke, MS, visual impairment, back issues or recovering following illness or injury.

We operate as a social group of members and volunteer members who work together to ensure the smooth running of the session.  Our aim is to provide supported swimming and maintain the social and mental wellbeing aspects that are associated with reaching out to isolated members of our community.  

What skills do I need?

You will need to be:

• over 18 years of age
• confident in the water
• happy to participate in a friendly, helpful team environment
• willing to be trained to the level of assistance you wish to give
• be available on a Tuesday between 11am and 2pm.
