Issuing Books - Librarian (RM)

New Haw Community Library (RM)

Be the Face of Your Local Library – Volunteer Librarian Opportunity

New Haw Community Library (Runnymede) is run in partnership with the community and powered by a passionate team of volunteers. As a Volunteer Librarian, you’ll play a key role in issuing and organising books, helping visitors, and contributing to the friendly, welcoming environment of this vibrant local hub.

No prior experience is needed – just a friendly attitude, a willingness to work in a structured setting, and an interest in serving the local community. You'll gain valuable experience in customer service and working with library systems, and there’s always something new happening – from craft fairs to book clubs.

What skills do I need?

No previous experience is required but volunteers should be friendly and interested in helping the public.

Candidates also need to enjoy working in a structured environment as handling and organising the library stock is a key activity. An interest in literature is helpful but not essential.
