Runnymede Foodbank Waitrose collection - Weybridge, Egham & Sunningdale

Waitrose is holding a nationwide community initiative from Sunday 6th September and Sunday 12th September 2026 to support local Foodbanks and all 3 local stores (Weybridge, Egham and Sunningdale) have invited us to participate at their store.

As you know, these types of collections are very important for us as they enable us to restock our warehouse shelves with the basic food items and particularly with the items that we are low on.  We receive approximately 10x the levels of donations from shoppers when we are physically present.

We are intending to cover all 3 of these stores on both Thursday Sep 10 and Friday Sep 11 2026  from 10am - 4pm in 3 x 2 hour shifts - and we aim to staff them with up to 3 people (4 at Weybridge) at each session.

Please have a look at your diary & see if you are able to support us by giving us just two hours from your week.  The scheduled sessions at each store are from:
    10am - 12pm
     12pm - 2pm
       2pm - 4pm

Please let me know if you have any flexibility and can volunteer at various stores/days/times, as this will help with the inevitable juggling exercise to fill each of the sessions with enough people.

This is a fantastic opportunity for all of us to get together and help the Foodbank meet the sustained levels of demand from clients.
