Spelthorne Boccia Club Assistant – Volunteer Opportunity

Are you passionate about inclusive sport and making a difference in your community? Spelthorne Boccia Club is seeking a Volunteer Assistant to support its disability sport sessions.

What is Boccia?
Boccia is a Paralympic sport similar to bowls or pétanque, played from a seated position using soft leather balls. It’s inclusive for adults and young people (14+) with physical disabilities and learning difficulties.

Volunteer Role Includes:

  • Supporting participants during games
  • Assisting with equipment and set-up
  • Encouraging and motivating players
  • Helping facilitate a fun and inclusive environment

What skills do I need?

You’ll need:

Patience, flexibility, and a caring attitude

An interest in sports, physical activity or health

Previous experience with disabilities or coaching is welcome but not essential

Willingness to learn – training may be offered
