Videographer Volunteer

Voluntary Action Surrey East

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for two volunteer videographers to document the East Surrey Volunteer Fair on Saturday 26th September.

You’ll capture high quality footage across the day, including event set-up, the volunteering marketplace, interviews with charity partners and visitors, and any interactive sessions taking place.

You’ll then edit a short 1 – 3 minute highlights video for use across social media, e-newsletters, and the VASE website. The video will help bring the day to life, capturing the best moments and show the value of volunteering to a wider audience.

This is a great role for students building a portfolio. You can use a smartphone or camera – just let us know what kit you’ll bring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Film event set-up inside the Belfry
  • Capture footage of stallholders and activities
  • Record 2 – 3 short interviews with charity stallholders and 1 – 2 interviews with visitors (where appropriate)
  • Edit a 1 – 3 minute and share it with the VASE team by an agreed deadline

Time Commitment

Total: approximately 16 hours

Pre-production: One 30 minute briefing meeting with the VASE team (time/date to be agreed).

On the day: You can either attend 9am – 3pm, or agree a shift: set up (9am – 12pm) or main event (12pm – 3pm).

Post-production: Edit a 1 – 3 minute video including interview clips and coverage across the event. The current deadline is one month after the event (end of October).

  • A volunteer induction and briefing pack will be shared ahead of the event.
