Volunteer Drivers (RM)

Looking Ahead (SH)

Looking Ahead offers weekly classes to both beginners and those who wish to refresh or improve their Braille skills. We can also help those who want to find out how to touch-type, how best to use a laptop, mobile phone, tablet (android or iPad) and explore the latest assistive technologies. In addition, we can offer some help with 'New Seeing Skills', if appropriate to those people who develop Age related Macular Disease.

As a volunteer driver, you will be essential to ensuring our visually impaired class members can actually attend such activities. The barriers to blind or partially sighted people getting out and about are so significant that many of them are so intimidated by the risks that they stay at home and become even more isolated.

We pay mileage expenses for drivers, and can also offer training on how to guide people with sight problems.
