Social Media Volunteer (IT and Website Support)

The Basingstoke Canal Society (The Society) needs your skills and experience as a Social Media Volunteer.

The Society is looking for a volunteer with social media skills to join our social media and marketing team. You will work as part of a small team of volunteers helping to run our IT infrastructure (using Google G-suite), including the website (which utilises WordPress), and to plan and send out regular communications to the community.

The Society is very active and this is an exciting opportunity for someone to get involved, as we grow our reach where we reach over 75,000 people and have following nearing 10,000 on Facebook alone!!! With 1000 members and 270 volunteers the Society helps protect the canal for both now and the future.

Indeed the role is not only helping The Society manage the day to day IT issues, but also with an opportunity to get involved in helping deliver and develop the Society’s IT strategy.

Ideally applicants would have some experience in Website management along with IT system security and knowledge of Google tools.  The time commitment is around three hours a week.

We are looking for people with excellent communication skills and 'Can Do' attitude.
